New Miami-set WE tv reality show to follow telenovela stars

WE tv, the home of reality shows like Kendra on Top and Braxton Family Values, is heading to Miami for its next unscripted series, a show that will follow telenovela actors and actresses living in Miami.

"The world of telenovelas has everything we look for in a WE tv show—compelling characters, conflict, consequence, and comic relief," WE tv president Marc Juris said in a statement. "I think we'll find the lines on the scripts in these TV dramas sometimes pale in comparison to real life."

Telenovela's are Spanish-language soap operas that don't tend to stay on the air for too long—but they do tend to engross viewers in their short time on TV nonetheless. Miami has become a hot spot for wannabe telenovela stars in recent years, and the WE tv show will highlight what these actors go through to get their moment in the spotlight.
