On-again Off-again relationship is a crazy love cycle whereby couples move back and forth in their relationship by breaking up and making up continuously. Couples find it hard to make a definite decision to call it quits because they are like a drug to each other. They go cold turkey in their relationship hiatus or break, and unfortunately fall into each other's arms again.

Break up/Make up relationships are not uncommon in the celebrity world. There are hundreds of 'epic' and notorious on-again, off-again relationship in Hollywood but below are our top 7.

Nelly and Ashanti

Is there a better example than Nelly/Ashanti love affair? On-again Off-again relationship is now comically synonymous with the urban entertainers. The pair started dating way back in 2003. They went back and forth in their relationship for a decade before Ashanti decided that enough is enough.

During their 10-year on and off love affair, Nelly dated a number of women notably Lashontae Heckward, while Ashanti was also rumoured to be dating record producer Irv Gotti. Currently, Nelly is going out with Floyd Mayweather's ex, Shantel Jackson.

Katy Perry and John Mayer

After making cringe-worthy remarks against his ex-girlfriends, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Anniston, I thought no celebrity will come near him as he was branded a kiss-and-tell boyfriend. But unfortunately, 'Part of Me' hit maker Katy Perry fell for him.

The pair started dating after Katy's short-lived marriage with Russell Brand in 2012. They then broke up/make-up for more than five times in a span of just two years.

Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran

Karrueche became Chris Brown's girlfriend after his break-up with Bajan superstar, Rihanna in 2009. The pair started dating in 2010 when Chris Brown was the No.1 most-hated person in Hollywood.

Karrueche has been an object of ridicule in the media and branded as a 'sidechick', which means the other woman. The couple first broke up in late 2012 after Chris rekindled his relationship with Riri.

They became an item again when Rih broke up with Chris in April 2013. Since that time, Kae and Chris have split more than three times. After Chris Brown served his jail term for violating his probation in the Rihanna case, Kae posted on intsagram that she was a 'loyal' lady and they are the modern-day John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

Sadly, the on-again off-again couple has split once again just last week. Chris Brown deleted all Karrueche pics on his Instagram and Karrueche responded by doing the same.

When a man uses his fists on a woman there is no going back. So what made Rihanna go back to Chris Brown after she was battered to near death in 2009? Only God knows!

After breaking up after the assault, Riri shockingly went back to Chris Brown by snatching him from Karrueche. The pair attended the 2013 Grammies together and couldn't keep their hands off each other.

Once again it did not last as they called it quits in April 2013, just two months after attending the Grammies together.

Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley

I know many people would be surprised to see this in the list but the truth is that Michael and Lisa were absolutely in love. When producer, David Forster was asked to reveal something about MJ the public didn't know, he gave an answer that shocked many people. "I know that he and Lisa Marie were absolutely 100% in love because I was around them, and it was amazing," Forster said.

Michael and Lisa got married in 1994. The media at that time said the marriage was a sham and a ploy to prop up Michael's public image which has been tainted by child molestation allegations. The couple divorced in 1996 but according to Lisa Marie, they were still romantically involved in each other till 2000. "We spent four more years getting back together and breaking up till I stopped," she told Oprah in 2010.

Rihanna and Drake

The quote above is the lyrics to a Rihanna-diss song by rapper, Drake. It is unfortunate Riri only falls for guys who treat her like a tramp. Rihanna and Drake became an item in 2011 after collaborating for the second time on the song 'Take Care'.

Rihanna dated Chris Brown and Matt Kemp prior hooking up with Drake. The couple had an on-again off-again relationship for more than a year till they finally broke up.

The 'What's My Name' artists were back together in early 2014 after the Rihanna-Chris Brown love affair ended. They were spotted together at Night clubs and Clippers NBA games. Rihanna also accompanied him to the European leg of his 'Would You like a Tour' tour. But since those appearances with Drake in the first quarter of the year, Riri has not been seen Drake. Words has it that Riri has already dumped Drake.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattison started dating on the set of 'Twilight' in 2008. Their relationship was one of the smoothest in Hollywood until K Stew messed up in 2012. She was caught cheating on R-Patz with director Rupert Sanders. Since then, the pair have had endless break up-make ups.
