You're cordially invited to Hollywood's next celebrity wedding!
In a television landscape filled with countless reality TV shows, more and more celebrities are getting the opportunity to share their special wedding day with more than just family and close friends. Instead, they're being allowed to say "I do" in front of the world with primetime specials and monthlong series.
This summer alone, both Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss and Couples Therapyveteran Taylor Armstrong will broadcast their respective weddings to fans. But could public, happy ceremonies later lead to private, unsuccessful marriages?

"For me, the strength of the relationship is going to be the answer as to whether or not it's a good idea," Vikki Ziegler, divorce attorney and star of Bravo's new series Untying the Knot, told Yahoo TV.
"In most cases, it's probably not a good idea, because I think people make the mistake of planning a wedding, not their future together.

"I think people have these hoopla weddings that stay on-air, and then all of a sudden they have a serious issue that arises," she added. "A marital hurricane comes and blows everything over, and they're screwed. I think it's probably not for everybody."
Burruss understands people's concerns and reservations. At first, she herself didn't have any interest in broadcasting her ceremony.
"I already knew [planning a wedding] was going to be stressful, because there was a lot of drama going on within my family," Burruss told Yahoo TV. "I just kind of felt like doing it with the cameras on is only going to make it worse."

But with some persuasion, her mindset began to change.
"People kept saying it wouldn't be fair to not let the fans be a part of it," said Burruss. "To come back next season [of Real Housewives of Atlanta] and I'm already married, fans are going to feel cheated."
Ultimately, Burruss and her fiancé, Todd Tucker, decided to allow Bravo to follow their journey to the altar in five short weeks on Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kandi's Wedding. "It turned out amazing, but during the process there were moments where I thought, 'Uh-oh, this wedding may not happen.' But in the end, everything turned out OK," Burruss revealed. "No, I don't regret it."

There's evidence to support Burruss's decision and show that cameras won't hurt the success of a marriage. After looking at 25 memorable reality TV weddings (see photo above), we found that 20 of the couples are still together and happily married. The five couples who are no longer married include: Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro, Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, Sherri Shepherd and Lamar Sally, and Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy.
"I'm shocked!" Ziegler said. "I think it's fantastic. Obviously, they have the secret recipe or secret ingredient of being able to weather the storm."
Although she hopes for the best for each unique couple, Ziegler notes that time will tell if a public wedding will truly have an impact on couples. "I think we should follow up on this and see where we stand in five years," she added.
