LOGAN – October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It was first observed in October 1987 in hopes of helping those who have suffered from domestic violence by holding offenders accountable for their actions.

On Oct. 23, 2012, a young Lancaster woman and her male friend fell victim to an act of domestic violence. This marks the two-year anniversary of the couple that was murdered at the hands of the woman's ex-husband before he turned the gun on himself. It was a day that would forever change the lives of those left behind by this act.
